Foreign Language 6- Exploratory 6th grade -Course Outline & Requirements Madame/ Señora Martin
FRANCAIS Bienvenue ESPAÑOL Bienvenido
Welcome to Sayville Middle School and to the Foreign Language Learning Experience. This will be an introductory course that will explore 2 different languages. We will start with French then move on to Spanish.
My classes will meet every other day for the entire year. The purpose of this program is to introduce and provide you with some background in French and Spanish to make an informed decision about your future plans for Foreign Language study.
The following outline goes over class requirements. Please review it with your parents and have them sign it and place it in your FL binder.
Materials: One inch binder with 20 sheets of loose leaf- to be used only for Foreign Language class.
Homework:
Quizzes: Only announced quizzes will be given.
Extra Help: I am available 11th period Monday through Thursday.
HW and announcements will be posted on my website, http://www.sayvilleschools.org/webpages/AMartin/
Quarter Grade : Is calculated as follows,
50% quizzes & dialogues
15% notebook
20% HW average
15% Participation, Behavior & Preparation (based on a rubric)

- H.W. may not be made-up for full credit unless you are absent from school.

Student Responsibilities:
- Arrive on time to class and be seated ready to work by the time the bell rings.
- Be prepared with your binder, HW and a pen or a pencil. Returning to your locker is not permitted.
- Be sure to make up any HW and class work due to absences. In the case of a music lesson, be sure to report to me first before attending the lesson. You will be required to make up the class during 11th period of that day.
- Please ONLY ask for a bathroom pass at the beginning or very end of the class period.
